AIIMS begins open round counselling for MSc Nursing 2026, 41 seats available

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced the Open Round of online seat allocation for MSc Nursing for the August 2026 session.
According to the notice issued by AIIMS New Delhi in this regard, the Open Round registration and choice-filling window has already been begun from September 9 and will close on September 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
OPEN ROUND SEAT ALLOCATION FOR MSC NURSING FOR AUGUST 2026 SESSION (ONLINE MODE)
Open Round of seat allocation for MSC Nursing to be held in online mode as per the following schedule-

Meanwhile, it is to be noted that candidates currently holding a seat allotted in previous rounds of online seat allocation of AIIMS or any other institute are not eligible to participate in the Open Round of seat allocation if his/her resignation is not accepted by 14 September 2026 till 05.00 P.M. In case it is found at any later stage that the candidate was holding a seat at the time of choice filling, his/her candidature will be cancelled and a penalty will be imposed as per rules.
PROCESS OF SEAT ALLOCATION
Online seat allocation for the open Round of MSc Nursing August 2026 session will be held as per the following process-
STEP 1
1 Candidates who were qualified in the Entrance Examination of MSc Nursing held on 13th/14th and 20th of June, 2026 are eligible to apply online and fill choices/preference of institutes for online seat allocation of the open round.
2 Candidates are required to log in with credentials to dashboard and click open round of seat allocation.
3 The link for the portal will be activated for eligible candidates on the “Dashboard”, accessible by logging in using the credentials that have been used for filling the registration form and other processes related to AIIMS M.Sc. Nursing Entrance Examination for the session 2026 on the official website of AIIMS New Delhi.
4 On clicking the link, the eligible candidates will be directed to the online M.Sc. Nursing seat allocation portal.
5 On logging in, confirm your name and candidate ID. Click on the Make Choice button to proceed to exercise choices (AIIMS) and their order, and submit the choices.
6 The candidates are required to deposit the amount of Rs. 25000/- for MSc Nursing courses through electronic mode as a security deposit on the link available at the candidate Dashboard.
7 Candidates are strictly advised to make payment from their parents/relatives' account or their own account rather than a cyber café or e-mitra person account, because refund will be made only to the same account from which payment is made.
8 The candidate can view the choices submitted and locked by them by clicking on the view choices button after logging in to the online Seat allocation portal. Click the Print button to take a printout.
STEP 2- The candidates are required to deposit the amount of Rs 25000/- for M.Sc. Nursing courses through electronic fund transfer mode on the link available there.
STEP 3
1 Only candidates who have registered as in Step 1 and deposited Rs 25000/- for participating in the open round of seat allocation as a security deposit as in Step 2 will be eligible for seat allocation in the open round.
2 Open round seat allocation result will be declared based on the CBT rank & choices exercised by the candidate from 08 to 14 September 2026 (upto 05:00 PM).
STEP 4
1 The candidates will be mandatorily required to accept the allocated seat in the open round of online seat allocation, deposit Original Documents and join the allotted AIIMS on the dates as specified above.
2 Candidates who fail to report/join the allotted AIIMS will be liable to pay a penalty of Rs 25000/- and the security deposit of these candidates will not be refunded.
IMPORTANT POINTS
1 The vacant seat position will be uploaded on the website in due course of time. However, the number of seats may change at the time of online seat allocation.
2 The allocation of seats will be made strictly as per rank/merit of candidates in the entrance examination and the rest of the terms and conditions/ eligibility as mentioned in the prospectus for session-2026 remain the same.
3 The candidates who were allotted a seat will be required to produce original certificates as required for the course mentioned in the Prospectus and previous rounds' results.
4 Those candidates who are found not eligible for OBC/EWS seat on the basis of verification of respective certificates shall be treated as UR if their rank is within the cut-off rank for UR merit list.
5 Seat allocation for the first UR seat allocation will be done and after UR seat allocation is over, EWS seat allocation will be done, followed by OBC/SC/ST seat allocation.
6 If any EWS seat remain vacant after seat allocation for EWS seat, all vacant seats will be transferred to the UR category and will be offered to UR candidates on merit.

Alongside, AIIMS New Delhi has also released the vacant seat positions for the MSc Nursing Open Round after completion of the first and second rounds. According to the seat allocation list, a total of 41 seats remain vacant across the participating AIIMS institutions.
The available seats span a wide range of nursing specialities. The open round seat allocation of M.Sc. Nursing courses for AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS institutions is scheduled to be held in online mode. Below is the detailed open round seat allocation-
