CENTAC postpones BSc Nursing entrance test to July 5

Puducherry Postpones B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam for CENTAC Government Quota Admissions

Puducherry: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, has postponed the Common Entrance Examination for admission to BSc Nursing courses under the CENTAC Government Quota for the academic year 2026-27.

The examination, which was originally scheduled to be held on June 14, 2026, will now take place on July 5, 2026 (Sunday).

According to an official press release issued by the Directorate, the entrance examination is being conducted through the Board of Examination of Nurses for admission to Government Quota seats in both government and private self-financing nursing colleges across the Union Territory of Puducherry. The examination process has been proposed in accordance with the Indian Nursing Council (INC) notification dated January 29, 2026.

"The Puducherry Common Entrance Examination was initially scheduled on 14.06.2026, however, the National testing Agency vide its Public Notice dated 8.06.2026, has proposed to conduct re-examination' of NEET - UG' for admission towards Under Graduate Medical courses in all Medical institution ln Indian on 21.06.2026, Sunday. Hence, the Common Entrance Examination to the B Sc, Nursing CENTAC Government quota Admission is postponed to 05.07.26 Sunday," the notice read.

In its earlier notice, the government mentioned, "The B.Sc. (Nursing) aspirants have to apply twice in the CENTAC website, initially for NON NEET Courses and again exclusively for the B.Sc (Nursing) course. Further, the Self Supporting seats of B.Sc. (Nursing) in College of Nursing, Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Research Institute (IGMC85RI), Puducherry and the Self Supporting seats, NRI Quota seats in Mother Theresa Post Graduate and Research Institute (MTPG&RI), Puducherry and Karaikal respectively, will be filled up by considering the NEET UG scorecard. Also, for Management Quota seats, admission will be made through other procedure as followed in the previous years. As on date, the total CENTAC B.Sc (Nursing) Govt. Quota seats available for counselling is 558."
