Postpone NEET 2022: Aspirants submit memorandum to Education Ministry
New Delhi: In an attempt to give a final push to their demands for postponing the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate Examination (NEET UG) 2022, the aspirants have now submitted a memorandum to the Union Education Ministry.
Referring to the academic calendar of previous year, the aspirants have listed down all the points for which the UG medical entrance examination should be deferred in the 19 pages long memorandum. It has been submitted to the Union Ministry by two Social activists, on the behalf the students.
There are hardly 5 days left for the exam, which is scheduled on July 17. Although the aspirants have been demanding postponement for months, the aspirants have not given any positive response in this regard.
In order to press for demands of deferring the exam, the aspirants wrote to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, initiated online petitions, used hashtags such as #postponeneetug2022, #JusticeforNeetStudents, #MODIJIdeferNEETUG, #PMOHelpNEETUGAspirants to reach the authorities.
India Wide Parents Association and the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) supported their demands and urged the authorities to defer the exam by at least 40-45 days. In fact, the aspirants had recently decided to initiate hunger strike. Some of the representatives of the aspirants reached the Prime Minister's office and demanded to meet PM Narendra Modi to express the grievances of the students.
Recently the students submitted a 19 page long memorandum to the Union Education Ministry and pointed out the issues faced by the students and also listed down the reasons for postponing the exam.

It should be mentioned in this context that earlier the Union Education Ministry had confirmed that the NEET UG 2022 exam would not be rescheduled. Similar views had been expressed by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as well, when he was attending the India Today Conclave.
When the Minister was questioned about the NEET UG Postponement demands, he had informed, "Students are always anxious. All our senior principals are here, educationists are here; they face this problem every month."
When asked if the exam shall be postponed, the Union Education Minister kind of dismissed the possibilities by saying, "I think, majority of students have already prepared to face the exam."
