26-year-old Junior Doctor Found Dead

Kolkata: In an unfortunate incident, the decomposed body of a 26-year-old junior doctor was found in a flat at the Barasat Police Housing Complex in North 24-Parganas on Saturday. The incident has sparked widespread concern and speculation in the area.
The deceased doctor, the son of a driver employed with the Barasat District Police, was residing in a government housing complex. A recent medical graduate, he had completed his degree in 2023. At the time of the incident, his family was reportedly away on a short pilgrimage to Tarapith.
According to police sources, a foul odour coming from one of the rooms in the complex raised suspicion among nearby residents. When they entered the room, they discovered the doctor’s lifeless body and immediately alerted the Barasat police.
Initial police investigation suggests that the doctor has allegedly died by suicide. However, the family has raised serious allegations, claiming that he was the victim of foul play.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause and time of death.

They claimed that the doctor’s uncle and aunt had administered medication to make him dizzy and mentally unstable.
According to Eisamay Online, the mother of the deceased alleged that an attempt was made to destroy her son's mental balance by giving him medicine. The mother claims that the son committed suicide due to this.
Debjit's father said, "The boy would occasionally close the door. He would get angry when we called out. We didn't call out. But we couldn't have imagined that he would do something like this," reports Sangbad Pratidin.
