35-year-old doctor killed in road accident while returning from duty

Road Tragedy Claims Life of Hyderabad Physician
Hyderabad: A 35-year-old general physician associated with KIMS-Sunshine Hospital tragically lost his life in the early hours of Sunday following a road accident at Greenlands, Panjagutta. He was returning from duty, riding as a pillion passenger on a motorbike, when a sand-laden 16-wheeler lorry struck the vehicle from behind.

According to the Deccan Chronicle, police, upon checking the CCTV camera footage, found that the lorry driver, Pasupula Shankar, was speeding. The road at the accident spot is about 30 feet wide with a divider. The bike was moving at a normal speed, police said. Shankar claimed he sounded the horn while overtaking the two-wheeler.
The 38-year-old lorry driver hailing from Peddakottapally village in Nagarkurnool district has been taken into custody by the police. G. Naresh Kumar, sub-inspector and investigating officer, reported that the driver, who was returning after dumping sand, was subjected to a breath analyzer test, which yielded a negative result for alcohol.
