36-year-old Gynaecologist found hanging in hotel room

Suicide
Bhopal: In an unfortunate incident, a 36-year-old gynaecologist working at a private hospital in Balaghat allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a bedsheet in the hotel's bathroom in TT Nagar.
According to recent media reports, the doctor was supposed to attend a counselling session at the Madhya Pradesh Medical Council office, for which he had travelled from Balaghat to Bhopal. However, moments before the scheduled meeting, he took the extreme step.
During the preliminary investigation, police suspected that family-related issues might have been a factor, as the doctor had recently divorced his wife, which may have caused him emotional distress.

While the police alleged this personal setback to be a possible reason behind his drastic step, the exact reason remains unconfirmed since no suicide note was found.
As per the Free Press Journal media report, the incident came to light when hotel staff repeatedly knocked on his door and called out to him, but received no response. By noon, noticing the door was still locked, they grew suspicious and alerted the police, who broke open the door and discovered the doctor’s body in the washroom. A red bedsheet was found tied around his neck.
During the room search, police seized his belongings, including a bag containing two mobile phones and earphones. One of the phones was found connected to an earphone, leading the cops to suspect that he may have spoken to someone on a call before taking the extreme step.
The police then sent his body for a postmortem and sent the seized belongings for further examination. Meanwhile, they are examining call records and other details to determine the circumstances leading to the suicide.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
