57-year-old doctor found hanging from tree in Mandya

Mandya: In an unfortunate incident, a doctor who was depressed after losing her sister allegedly died by suicide by hanging from a tree in the agricultural field near Kudaragundi village in Maddur taluk on Friday.

The doctor was a 57-year-old man who worked at a private hospital named Sanjo Hospital in Mandya.

The incident occurred after the doctor visited Kudaragundi village to attend his sister's death anniversary. It is reported that the doctor was very much attached to his sister and was depressed since her death.

According to the brother-in-law of the deceased, the doctor lost hope in life since her sister's death. After the ceremony was over, the doctor went to the agriculture field and took this extreme step. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Mandya superintendent of police Yatish informed TOI, "We suspect it to be a case of suicide. We have registered a case at Maddur police station."

An investigation into the case is underway.
