6 arrested for alleged murder plot targeting Gujarat doctor

Jhunjhunu: In a shocking incident, six individuals have been arrested for allegedly plotting to murder a woman doctor from Gujarat. Pilani police successfully foiled the conspiracy on Monday, recovering a foreign-made pistol, seven live cartridges, and four spent cartridges from the suspects.

According to Jhunjhunu SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay, all six suspects have been produced in court and are currently in police custody.

The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of criminal activity. The accused had previously attempted to extort a contractor in Likhwa village, even firing shots to intimidate him. During questioning, the main suspect disclosed that the group had also planned to murder the doctor in Gujarat.

The group then travelled to Gujarat, where they identified the doctor and conducted surveillance. However, the plan was foiled by heightened security and surveillance cameras, forcing them to return without executing the crime.

They had intended a second attempt after attending a wedding, but their plans were disrupted following a firing incident in Likhwa. During subsequent interrogations, the main suspect revealed the murder plot.

Jhunjhunu police have informed their counterparts in Gujarat about the case, and the advance payment for the weapons has been verified.

Pilani CI Chandrabhan confirmed the arrests and the recovery of the weapon and ammunition. The suspects had fired four cartridges for practice, with seven live cartridges still in their possession, reports TOI.
