Agra shocker: Two quacks found treating patients at Government Medical College, arrested
Agra: During a recent inspection at Government Medical College (GMC), two quacks have been arrested for posing as doctors and treating patients at the trauma center of the hospital. The duo was then arrested by the Firozabad police.
The principal of GMC created the team after the college received numerous complaints of extortion from patients and their family members as well.
The duo has been identified as Sanket Kumar and Deepak Yadav.

"The two men handed over by the administration were booked under IPC section 420 (cheating and dishonesty) and sent to jail. The matter is under investigation," said Sanjeev Dubey, Firozabad north police station house officer.
While investigating it came to the fore that many people working in the same hospital were in support of the illegal activities carried out by the two. The reason behind the staff not complaining about the accused to the college authorities was because one of the accused is a relative of a doctor working at the college.
TOI reports that patients were transferred in private ambulances instead of government ambulances as the accused made a deal with the private ambulance drivers in exchange for a commission.

Earlier Medical Dialogues team had reported on a similar case where police arrested a fraudster along with an aide on Sunday who allegedly impersonated a Kolkata-based dermatologist and prescribed wrong medicines to patients. They have been booked under IPC sections under cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
Lalbazar officers told that they have identified his aide as Rajib Sarkar, a medical representative who lives in New Tollygunge. The man impersonating as a dermatologist is Shubho Nath, of Sukantanagar in Bidhannagar South.
