Amritsar doctor robbed of Rs 25000, jewellery at gunpoint
Amritsar: A doctor has been robbed of Rs 25000 in cash and gold jewellery by two armed persons while she was working at her clinic in Sant Avenue, following which a case was registered regarding the same.
The robbers went to the clinic on the evening of 26th October 2022, situated at the rear end of the residence of the Police Commissioner, under the pretext of receiving treatment as patients, and subsequently robbed the doctor under the threatening point of a pistol.

The thieves went to the clinic pretending to be patients, and they jumped into action when all the other patients at the clinic had left. They pointed a gun at the helper in the clinic and took out the entire cash. After that, they threatened the doctor with the gun and asked her to remove the jewellery she was wearing.
The duo subsequently fled the spot, following which the medical practitioner, Dr Esha Dhawan lodged a complaint at the police station. The police registered a case based on the complaint and are currently investigating the issue, reports Tribune India.
The incident was reportedly caught on a CCTV camera. According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Varinder Singh Khosa, the police have some important clues regarding the case and are hoping to solve the case as soon as possible.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported a similar incident of theft and assault on a woman doctor reported at a private clinic in Thane in which an unidentified person pretending to be a patient had attacked her with a sharp weapon and fled with the doctor's mobile phone, gold jewellery and Rs 5,000 cash. The assailant apparently posed as a patient and was waiting outside as Dr Jaiswal was treating others. Immediately after all the other patients left, the accused allegedly barged into the clinic and attacked the doctor with a blood pressure monitoring machine. He then snatched her mobile phone, gold jewellery and cash, all collectively worth around Rs 93,000, and ran away.
