Unidentified burglars break into doctor's house in Madhya Pradesh

Ujjain: A doctor associated with Government Madhav Nagar Hospital in Ujjain lost Rs 31,000, a mobile phone, and a gold chain in a theft that took place at his residence.

The doctor has been identified as in charge of the hospital and lives within the premises of the hospital. The doctor and his family were at home when the incident took place.

After hearing noises inside the house, the doctor's brother woke up and attempted to stop the thieves, However, they ran away and threw stones at the brother. No one was reported to have been injured in the stone pelting.

The accused entered the doctor's house at around 2 am and stole Rs 16000 kept in the trouser pocket of the doctor in addition to a gold chain, reports the Free Press Journal. They also stole Rs 15000 and a mobile phone which belonged to the doctor's brother. The thieves threw away the mobile at Khajurwali Masjid and ran away. The doctor subsequently filed a complaint with the Central Kotwali police station.

Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a similar incident where a septuagenarian doctor couple's house had been looted of nearly Rs 1.18 crore by four masked men who broke into Usha Nursing Home in Ambernath where their house is located.

The masked men locked the Usha Nursing Home in Ambernath and then broke into the doctor's house which is on the second floor of the building. They threatened Dr. Usha Lapsia, 71, at knifepoint and took their entire safe containing cash and gold worth Rs 1.18 crore. Dr. Usha's spouse eventually rushed home, opened the doors of each floor, and informed the police about the incident. The accused had reportedly taken the CCTV cameras and DVRs from the ground floor control room.
