Assam: Homeopathy doctor arrested for making offensive remarks on Facebook post
Barpeta: A Barpeta based homeopathy doctor was arrested from the West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya after he allegedly made derogatory remarks against the police on a social media platform.
The doctor has been identified as a resident of Mandia in Barpeta distric. He works as a homeopath under the Ministry of AYUSH in Chela village in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. He pursued his BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) from West Bengal University of Health Sciences (BUHS).
A few days ago a similar incident also took place where such statements had landed medical professionals in trouble. Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Principal Health Secretary of Jharkhand also received criticism after making a derogatory remark wherein, he asserted that "People become doctors so that they don't have to work. And, some want to become a doctor so that they get a handsome dowry." Demanding action against the doctor for his "derogatory" remarks, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) had moved a letter with the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren.
