Bhubaneswar dentist dies after train hits him near railway tracks

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a young dentist died after being hit by a train in the Kalarahanga area of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The deceased was employed as a dentist at a private hospital.

The circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be ascertained. It is not clear whether the doctor was attempting to cross the railway tracks or was walking along the tracks when he was struck by the train. The incident is suspected to have been accidental.

According to news reports, the impact of the train threw the doctor a considerable distance. His scooter was reportedly found parked near the railway tracks, while his body was discovered lying on the railway line.

Following the incident, the doctor’s body was recovered and taken to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where a post-mortem examination is underway. His family members have also been informed about his death, reports Odisha TV.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Mancheswar have registered an unnatural death case and launched an investigation. Police said evidence from the spot and other available clues are being examined to ascertain the cause of death, reports Ommcom News.

Further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the dentist’s death are awaited as the investigation continues.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a tragic incident, a 35-year-old BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery) doctor on his way to perform surgery on a patient was killed, while two others travelling with him sustained serious injuries after their car crashed into a bridge railing on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj highway, police said on Tuesday. The accident took place late Monday night near the Dariyapur railway overbridge when the allegedly speeding car went out of control while overtaking, they said.
