Burglary at Kozhikode doctor's house: 45 sovereigns of gold missing

Robbery
Kozhikode: A burglary took place at the residence of a doctor in Chevarmbalam, Kozhikode, where 45 sovereigns of gold ornaments were stolen in the early hours of Sunday.
According to Chevayur Police, the break-in occurred around 1:55 AM on Sunday. The house had been unoccupied since September 11, when Dr Gayathri left Kozhikode. The stolen gold was kept inside a cupboard and a table inside the house.

Investigators are now closely examining CCTV footage from both inside and outside the house to identify the suspect. Police suspect that someone with local knowledge of the area may be involved.
This is the second big theft recently reported in the Chevayur Police area. Another case in Parambil Bazaar involved 25 sovereigns of gold stolen from a locked, empty house. CCTV footage is also helping the police in that case, reports Mathrubhumi.
