Fake Doctor
Anand: A fake doctor allegedly treating patients despite having studied only up to Class 7 was arrested during a joint raid by police and a medical team in Borsad taluka of Gujarat’s Anand district.
The accused was caught during an inspection at a hospital located in Napa Talpad village after authorities received a tip-off that an unqualified person was practising medicine at the facility.

According to investigators, the hospital was registered in the name of a qualified doctor who had reportedly not been attending the facility for an extended period. In his absence, the accused was allegedly managing the hospital and providing medical treatment to patients.
During the raid, the police found various painkillers, injections, medical equipment for examining patients, including a total of Rs 16,869 worth of goods from the hospital. They seized them and initiated legal action, reports Sandesh.
Authorities said the individual failed to produce a valid registration certificate from the Gujarat Medical Council during questioning. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had only studied up to Class 7 and did not possess any recognised medical degree.
A case has been registered against the accused, and further legal action has been initiated.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a 58-year-old fake doctor had been arrested in Vankadiya village of Halol taluka in Gujarat's Panchmahal district, for allegedly practising medicine without a valid license or recognised medical qualification. The accused, a 58-year-old native of West Bengal, was reportedly running a clinic from a roadside house in the village and administering allopathic medicines and injections to villagers.
During the inspection, officials discovered that the accused possessed neither a degree nor a license to practice medicine. The police also recovered various medicines and medical supplies from the clinic, including antibiotic tablets, creams, injections, vaccines, syringes, a blood pressure monitor, and a glucometer.
