Delhi puts hospitals on alert, cancels leave for all Govt doctors

Hospitals Briefed for War-Time Emergencies
New Delhi: In light of the prevailing situation and the necessity to ensure preparedness of the emergency response system, the Delhi government has taken swift action by cancelling all leaves for its officers and doctors at government hospitals across the national capital with immediate effect.
An official order stated, "The competent authority has directed that no leave shall be granted to any officer or official of the Government of NCT of Delhi until further orders.”
In a latest move, the medical fraternity across the nation is stepping up to ensure that emergency healthcare services remain fully functional during any critical situation. They have promised to give their full support and provide medical help whenever needed, no matter what happens.

Several medical associations, including the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA), Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD), Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) and many more, have come together in solidarity. They have asked doctors to stay prepared for emergencies, respond quickly to any crisis, and work in proper coordination to handle the situation effectively.
A senior police official, asking to remain anonymous, told HT, "Delhi is on high alert, and security has been heightened across the city. We have increased night patrolling and DCPs have been told to neutralise any suspicious activity."
Medical Dialogues recently reported that all the private hospitals and nursing homes in the national capital have been directed to paint their hospital roofs with the Red Cross Symbol. The order, issued by the Directorate General of Health Service (Nursing Home Cell) of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, mandates immediate compliance from all registered nursing homes and private hospitals in the region.
All the private hospitals and nursing homes have been further ordered to check the position of their stock and ensure the availability of specialists in their nursing homes in response to the current geo-political situation.
On the other hand, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Gujarat has called upon its members to be on standby for emergency medical deployment, as reported by Medical Dialogues. In an official circular addressed to all state committee members and local branches, the association urged doctors, medical specialists, and paramedics to be ready for any medical emergencies, particularly those involving surgical and intensive care. The IMA also emphasised the importance of coordinating with government and military hospitals to ensure swift and effective medical assistance if required.
