Doctors at Amor Hospital perform rare procedure to treat Hyperhidrosis in 28-year-old patient
Hyderabad: Doctors at Amor Hospital, a multi-speciality healthcare facility in the city have claimed that they have successfully treated a rare ailment 'hyperhidrosis', which leads to abnormally excessive sweating that's not necessarily related to heat or exercise, in a 28-year-patient.
Individuals suffering from this disease sweat so much that it soaks through clothes or drips off their hands.

Besides disrupting normal daily activities, this type of heavy sweating can cause social anxiety and embarrassment, which was the case in this patient.
Mahesh Babu, a resident of Hyderabad, was a victim of hyperhidrosis for many years, and due to this he could not take up a job worth his education and had to settle down as a wall painter instead, the hospital said in a release here.
The problem was so severe for him that he was hesitant to meet his friends and even dreaded getting married.
This is a rare condition found in about two people in every 1000. Prominent Hollywood actresses Cameron Diaz and 'Bond Girl' Halle Berry were once victims of this ailment.
Commenting on the surgery, Dr Srujan Kumar, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Amor Hospital, Kukatpally said, in this case, we performed "Sympathectomy" recently, a surgical procedure in which special equipment is used to cut the 'sympathetic nerves' at a precise location. This surgery took about 40 minutes to cut out the root cause of the problem. Post this surgery, the patient was recovering in the hospital.

Recently, a 40-day-old baby was brought to the Rahmania Medical Center in Motihari for treatment. The doctor was told that the child was bloated near his stomach. Due to the bloating, the baby was not able to urinate properly. To find out the reason behind the bloating, the doctor got the child examined.
