Doctors Raise Voice Against termination of GIMS SR General Medicine, demand reinstatement
New Delhi: Strongly objecting to the expulsion of a senior resident doctor at GIMS, Noida with just a short 3 days notice period, doctors' associations across the country have started raising their voice on the issue.
Calling such a decision, on the Director's part, to terminate the institute faculty before his contract tenure as "unethical", Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) and Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) have recently written to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, demanding immediate reinstatement of the said faculty.
The issue first came to notice when the Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors Network, Uttar Pradesh wrote to the Director of GIMS Noida expressing their shock after getting to know about the sudden expulsion of the said Senior resident doctor in General Medicine before the completion of his contract tenure till 22/09/2021.
Pointing out that terminating the doctor within just 3 days notice period is unethical and wrongful, IMA JDN, Uttar Pradesh, in the letter dated July 10, stressed upon the fact that the resident doctor, who is also the Founding President of RDA of the hospital, had worked at the hospital during the peak of COVID wave, showing great determination.

"This type of unethical practice and dictatorship should not be followed otherwise Doctors will lose confidence in the Management," the association stated in the letter condemning the termination of the senior resident doctor at the institute.

Following this, the staff of the Institute also wrote to the Director and pointed out that when the senior resident doctor had earlier sought a resignation back in 11 May 2021, it was straightway rejected and the doctor was given an extension of his services. Afterward, the doctor "put in all his heart at patient care and growth of the institute", mentioned the letter by GIMS staff.
Unethical Discontinuation of services of Dr. Tushar Bidhuri, has shaken the roots of the values we put our trust in as Health workers. He served tirelessly at GIMS. Stressing upon the fact that there was no wrongdoing on the part of the doctor, the letter further pointed out how the said senior resident doctor had initiated the "help for all health for all" RDA initiative and was stated as GIMA RDA president with only motto to help everyone.
In the letter, the staff had further warned the GIMS Director and other concerned authorities that they would be forced to stop all healthcare services including the emergency and covid services if the issue doesn't get addressed adequately.
A copy of the said letter was sent to the Chief Minister and State Health Minister as well along with the signatures of GIMS Staff supporting the issue raised in the letter.
Recently FORDA also took up the matter with the UP Chief Minister and mentioned in the letter that "This is gross disrespect of the efforts of a Doctor, especially in these testing times."
We stand against unethical termination of @Drtusharbidhuri by Director, #GIMSNoida and appeal to Hon'ble @CMOfficeUP to intervene urgently to reinstate the aggrieved Doctor & restore the faith of Healthcare Staff #Justice_for_DrTushar @myogiadityanath @MoHFW_INDIA @GimsRda @ANI pic.twitter.com/peteVoJBx7

"Some other Hospital Staff have also been terminated subsequently in a similar manner. It has been brought to our notice that many Healthcare Staff have resigned earlier, frustrated by the attitude of current Director of the Institute," further pointed out the letter by FORDA.
FAIMA also wrote to the CM Yogi Adityanath demanding reinstatement of the senior resident doctor of the institute and mentioned that "Vindictive actions like these against our COVID warriors are absolutely unwarranted and healthcare of the State, which may be affected if the doctor is not reinstated, cannot be held ransom to personal vendetta by few in position to exploit our Junior doctors."
@FAIMA_INDIA_ stands with @Drtusharbidhuri RDA President @GimsRda against unethical & wrongful termination by #director @GimsNoida.
