Dr Majid Ahmed Talikoti Appointed Honorary Health Commissioner by India-GCC Trade Council

Mumbai: Renowned oncologist surgeon Dr Majid Ahmed Talikoti has been appointed as the "Honorary Health Commissioner" of the India-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade Council.

With over a decade of expertise in surgical oncology, Dr. Talikoti is recognized as one of the leading medical professionals in the field. He is the chairman of Medicant Hospital, a 600-bed facility in Bokaro, Jharkhand, and the founder and chairman of the Health For All Charitable Trust.

Dr Talikoti has been associated with various leading medical research institutes across the country. He serves as a consultant at Batra Hospital & Medical Research Center in Delhi and is a visiting faculty member at BIMR Hospital in Gwalior, and Florance Hospital in Srinagar, among others. His commitment is driven by the goal of leaving no stone unturned in cancer treatment.

The prestigious title "Honorary Health Commissioner" was conferred upon him during a recent event held in Delhi, where he was presented with an official appointment letter, granting him all the rights, privileges, and powers associated with the role.

Expressing joy, Dr Talikoti told TOI, "This role is a significant step and I am eager to contribute to health initiatives that bridge India & Gulf Countries (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman Kuwait and Qatar) across borders, region, religion and build strong diplomatic ties and healthy nations."

The honour comes shortly after Dr Talikoti was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Indian Muslims by the Muslim Mirror. Earlier this year, he also received the Healthcare Excellence Asian Arab Award 2025 in Dubai, in recognition of his contributions to the medical field.

Apart from this, he is also the recipient of Best Cancer Specialist of the Year (Asia) at Asia Leader's Excellence Award 2004- Singapore, Surgical Oncologist of the Year 2013, Cancer Specialist of the Year- International Health Care Summits and Awards 2017 and many more.
