Dr S Govindu felicitated after promotion as ADME, Piduguralla Medical College Principal

Vijayawada: Following his promotion as Additional Director of Medical Education (ADME) and appointment as Principal of the newly established Government Medical College at Piduguralla, Dr S. Govindu, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine and Vice-Principal of Government Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, was felicitated on Tuesday.

As per the news reports, a grand felicitation ceremony was held at the college auditorium, where faculty members, doctors, postgraduate students, and staff gathered in large numbers to honour his elevation to senior administrative roles in medical education.

Speaking on the occasion, Government Siddhartha Medical College Principal Dr A Yedukondala Rao said that Dr Govindu had played a crucial role in the administration of the college during his tenure as Vice-Principal, reports Hans India.

Professor of Community Medicine Dr Durga Kumar also praised Dr Govindu, describing him as the backbone of the department. He acknowledged his sustained commitment to academic excellence, student training, and the improvement of healthcare services.

In his response, Dr Govindu expressed gratitude for the recognition and said the felicitation marked an important milestone in his professional journey. He thanked his colleagues and staff for their continuous support and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing medical education in his new role as Principal of the Government Medical College at Piduguralla.

Vice-Principal Dr Prashanthi, Associate Professor Dr Srinivas, faculty members, PG students, doctors, and staff attended the programme and conveyed their best wishes to Dr Govind, reports Hans India.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a significant administrative reshuffle, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department has appointed new principals and superintendents at several government medical colleges and hospitals across the state. Altogether, six government medical colleges got new principals, while five government teaching hospitals received new superintendents.
