Dr Vedprakash Mishra Appointed Head of NMC National Experts Panel

Delhi: Dr Vedprakash Mishra has been appointed as the head of the National Experts Panel constituted by the National Medical Commission (NMC) to strengthen medical education standards across the country.
Dr Mishra currently serves as the Chief Advisor of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Education and Research (Deemed to be University), Wardha, and Chief Advisor to the Chancellor at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), Karad.
Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, also the National Head of the Academic Programme of the Indian Programme UNESCO Chair in Bio-Ethics, Haifa, is an illustrious member of the medical fraternity. He was born in Nagpur and pursued an MD degree. He further enhanced his educational qualifications by completing a Master's in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management and a Bachelor’s in Journalism.
In recognition of his contributions, he has been conferred with the highest academic distinction of D. conferred with D.Sc. (Honoris Cause) by Six Health Sciences Universities in the country in recognition of his selfless services to the cause of medical education of consequence and relevance at the National and International level.
Over the course of his career, Dr Mishra has also served as the Chancellor of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed University), Karad, for a full term of five years from 2014 to 2019. His association with the Medical Council of India in various capacities has been of well over three decades, where he held prestigious position that of Chairman of the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Academic Committee, and several others.
He has the distinction of being recognized as ‘Professor Emeritus’, ‘Professor of Eminence’, and ‘Professor of Excellence’, by five Health Sciences Universities in the country.
He is the Honorary Advisor to the National Indian Medical Association and Chairman of the Standing Committee for Medical Education, with it’s headquarter at New Delhi. He is a Member of the Board of Management, Governing Council, and Advisory Council at various renowned educational institutions and organizations engaged in the field of Medical Education, Management, and Research.
Dr Vedprakash Mishra has to his credit unique distinctions like ‘Youngest ever Teacher member’ on the Senate of Nagpur University, youngest ever Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Nagpur University. He is the recipient of well over 100 prestigious National and International awards in recognition of his selfless service to the cause of higher education in ‘general’ and medical education in ‘particular’ for well over three decades, and the spate is on in an endless manner.
The Panel also includes Dr Vivek Saoji, VC of Bharati University, Pune; Dr Purnima Barua, Professor in Microbiology and Medical Superintendent, Medical College, Guwahati; Dr R Krishnamohan, VC of Panimalar Medical College, Chennai; and Jego Ori, member, Undergraduate Medical Education Board, National Medical Commission, reports The Live Nagpur.
Sanchari Chattopadhyay has pursued her M.A in English and Culture Studies from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She likes observing cultural specificities and exploring new places.
