Eminent physician Dr Bijoy Choudhary succumbs to cancer
Patna: After putting up a 6 year-long battle, renowned physician Dr Bijoy Choudhary succumbed to cancer at a Patna hospital on Saturday.
The doctor had a 25-year long glorious career at a Tripolia Hospital in Patna.
Dr. Choudhary did his schooling at St Xavier's High school, Patna, and got his MBBS degree from Prince of Wales Medical College, Patna. He pursued higher studies in London, United Kingdom, where he worked at several hospitals for almost a decade. Then he came back to India and he worked at Tripolia Hosp, Patna City for more than 25 years and had been working till June 2020 at his own private clinic at Jamal Road, Patna.
Unfortunately, he got cancer almost 6 years ago and had been battling against it until he eventually passed away on Saturday.
As per a recent HT report, the son of a famous lawyer of Patna High Court, Late L K Choudhury, Dr Choudhary leaves behind his wife Dr. Poonam Choudhary who is the former professor and principal of Sri Arvind Mahila College. He is succeeded by a son and a daughter. Settled in Canada, his son Dr. Abhishek Choudhury is a consultant, Mediversal Multispeciality Hospital at Doctor's colony Kankarbagh, Patna. His daughter and other relatives have also mourned the death of the doctor.
The demise of the doctor has brought grief into the medical community. Extending his condolences to the bereaved family members, Director, Akshat Seva Sadan Yarpur, Patna posted on his social media stating, " He was a messiah for the sick and ailing. Many of whom insisted that his touching them once would heal them."
Sanchari Chattopadhyay has pursued her M.A in English and Culture Studies from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal. She likes observing cultural specificities and exploring new places.
