Faridabad Viral Video: 40 year old doctor on emergency duty attacked for alleged delay in treatment, 3 arrested
Faridabad: In yet another case of violence against doctors, a 40-year-old doctor on duty in the emergency ward of the Badshah Khan civil hospital became a victim after he was assaulted by the attendants of patients over an alleged delay in treatment. The incident took place in the early hours on Sunday and video of the attack soon went viral on social media. Three people have been arrested in this regard.
The doctor was brutally assaulted and suffered severe injuries. According to a complaint lodged by the victim (doctor), the incident occurred at 3 am when the patient was rushed in to the emergency ward with head injuries, they said.

Since the doctor was attending to another person and could not immediately treat the new patient, he was allegedly beaten up by Vineet Kumar, Akshay Khatri and Sachin Panghal, a police official said, adding the accused then fled.
However, the entire situation at the hospital was caught on CCTV, due to which the police were able to nab the three accused.
In the viral video, the attendants of the patient and the injured patient himself were mercilessly beating the doctor over delay in treatment.
Coming in support of the doctor, Twitter users have raised the issue of the alleged violence against the doctor by circulating the CCTV footage.
An FIR was registered at SGM Nagar police station and the three accused were arrested after identifying them with the help of CCTV footage, a police spokesperson said.
Commenting on the attack, the doctor told the Tribune, “The infuriated attendants started beating me. The accused then fled the spot. The incident was recorded in the CCTV installed at the ward."
At the time of the incident, there was only one security personnel on duty. Other doctors at the hospital have raised their voices against the lack of security at the hospital. Demanding more security personnel, the doctors said, 'There should be more security guards and medical officers in the night shift. Due to shortage of staff, frequent incidents of manhandling of doctors are occurring."
The Chief Medical Officer and the Principal Medical Officer also reached the hospital after they got the information about the incident.
