As per a recent media report in the Free Press Journal, the written complaint stated that the doctor had completed her MBBS degree from the T. N. Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital in 2017 by allegedly producing a fake caste certificate. She is reportedly pursuing post-graduation from Sion Hospital at the moment.
The doctor was called in by the crime branch officials to record statements, where she claimed to belong to the Shikkalgar community and therefore comes under NT-1. She added that she was admitted to the T. N. Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital in the reserved category after completing her 12th class graduation in 2011. The caste certificate was verified by the committee at the Konkan Bhavan in Belapur, Navi Mumbai last year at MS at Gynac Sion Hospital Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion Hospital last year.
Based on the statements, the police collected her caste certificate from T. N. Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable hospital, where she had studied along with the verification papers from the committee. The reports were sent to a Caste Verification Committee for rechecking, following which the police received an alert from the committee that the certificate submitted by the doctor belongs to another person.
The police haven't arrested anyone so far, and further investigation is going on to find more leads and evidence.
A police officer told The Free Press Journal, "We have booked the woman doctor on the relevant sections of cheating and forgery but we are yet to make an arrest in the case."
