GMC General physician Dr Thrilok Chander gets ICMR appreciation for role in PLACID Research
Hyderabad: Lauding the General Practitioner of Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Dr Thrilok Chander, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has sent a letter of appreciation to the medical practitioner for his role in PLACID research, which involved determining the efficacy of Convalescent Plasma (CP) in treatment Covid-19 positive patients.
Hyderabad-based, Dr. Thrilok Chander pursued his MBBS degree from Kakatiya Medical College in 1997 and his post-graduation in Doctor of Medicine from Gandhi Medical College in 2009.

As per a recent report by Telangana Today, ICMR Director, Dr. Bhargava wrote in his letter to Dr. Chander, "It is my pleasure to write this appreciation letter to Dr. B Thrilok Chander for his role in the PLACID trial. We have known him since Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad, became a trail site for the PLACID trial. Dr. Chander showed astute leadership skills along with keen research acumen. The efforts of his team have been a great contribution to the trial. Gandhi Medical College was the seventh in the order of the enrollment of participants to this trial."
The letter further read, "I can assure the fact that Dr. B Thrilok Chander with his zeal, dedication, and scientific rigour is an asset for Gandhi Medical College, Secunderabad. I wish him all the best for his future endeavors and continued success."
