Hyderabad: Dentist kidnapped by businessman, house ransacked
Hyderabad: A scene from an action movie has turned into reality after a mob of around 40 people ransacked and vandalised the property of a dentist in Adibatla and kidnapped her in broad daylight, leaving her parents wounded and terrified.
The horrific incident of kidnapping a dentist in broad daylight has put others in shock thinking about their own children's safety as this could happen to anyone and anywhere.
The mastermind behind the kidnapping is a 28-year-old founder and CEO of Mr Tea franchisee who has been arrested along with eight others by the Rachakonda police on Friday night.
The incident took place on Friday morning when suddenly a mob of 40 people barged into the dentist's house with sticks and with masks on, spilt out and rushed inside the house.

The mob ransacked and vandalised the furniture of the house and went crazy and started to beat anyone who tried to resist them. After turning the house into a mess, the accused along with others kidnapped the dentist by taking her into their SUV forcefully in front of their parents.
When anyone tried to stop them, the mob thrashed them brutally. Her father was also beaten when he tried to save his daughter. The incident caused huge chaos and neighbours went outside to check the situation and found that her father was wounded and bleeding.
According to the police, the dentist and the accused were in a relationship after they met each other at a badminton academy and the accused approached her with a marriage proposal.
Although he pleaded not to take her away from him and promised that he would make her happy, her parents denied his request and instead fixed her engagement with a doctor.
A relative of the doctor who was at her house informed TNIE "The accused had approached her parents in the past and sought her hand in marriage for which they said they needed time and sent him away. The parents then fixed her wedding with a doctor."
The accused who had a brand of her company opposite the dentist's house became aware of the news and feeling raged planned the kidnapping so that he could prevent her from marrying another man. He attacked her house with about 40 men. While about 20 remained outside, the rest men stormed the house, ransacked it and kidnapped her.
Following this, her parents informed the police and a case was registered against the accused. The police created a team to nab the accused and rescue the doctor. Meanwhile, the victim's mother begged Sudheer Babu and DCP Sunpreet Singh for help in finding her daughter upon their arrival at the scene.
While investigating, the police traced the location of the dentist after she called her parents informing them that she was safe and was in the city asking her parents not to worry. Meanwhile, the accused was absconding. Later, she was taken back to her family residence where she is said to be in shock and is being counselled.
Before the police found the dentist and handed her over to her parents, the family members of the dentist in response to the kidnap brought in a JCB and demolished the Mr Tea branch opposite their house, while demanding action against the assailants and staging a protest.
Later the police arrested the accused and rescued the doctors. "We took the couple and their parents to the police station to take their statements; further investigations will be conducted to get the full picture," police told DC.
