Hyderabad: Doctors, staff of private hospital attacked over parking dispute
Hyderabad: An Intense fight has been captured on CCTV showing doctors and hospital staff getting attacked by miscreants over a parking dispute at ESSEL Hospital in Hyderabad's Shahlibanda. A doctor has sustained head injuries in the clash and is currently in ICU.
According to the reports, the fight started mainly over a parking issue. The CCTV footage from the hospital shows that neighbours adjacent to the hospital building barged in and attacked the doctors and staff inside the hospital. The shocking video went viral on social media on Friday.

As per the claims of the hospital staff, the neighbours had been obstructing entry to the hospital by parking their vehicles in front of the hospital. As a result, the hospital staff faces difficulty to enter emergency patients into the hospital due to the blockage of the path.
The attack occurred on Thursday when an emergency patient had to be brought inside because there was a vehicle in the way. Dr Neha Singh of ESSEL Clinics and Hospitals said the doctors along with others, tried to tell the neighbours to clear the way by parking the vehicle elsewhere and warned them about approaching the police. However, the neighbours came back with sticks and attacked the doctors and hospital staff, as well as vandalised the hospital property. A doctor was injured in the process and is in the ICU, TH reports.
On the other hand, the neighbours said another version of the incident. They said that the hospital staff started the fight first causing a fracture on the left leg of a 70-year-old man. The elderly man is a family member of the neighbours adjacent to the hospital. They alleged that the hospital staff attacked the old man when they approached to clear the way and pushed him aside causing severe injury. It was because of this that they returned to the hospital and attacked the staff.
The parking dispute was going on between them for a while now which resulted in a fight on Thursday. Both parties later filed a complaint at the Shahlibanda police station. The neighbours said that the attack was retaliation after the staff injured the elderly man.
A case was registered against the hospital staff and they have been booked under IPC Section 324 – Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous means. Meanwhile, the neighbours were booked under Section 324, Section 448 - house trespass, and Section 427 - causing damages. Police are currently investigating the case.
