Jalandhar Nephrologist Shooting Case: 1 arrested, 2 still on the run

Arrest
Jalandhar: Following the recent shooting of a doctor in Jalandhar’s Urban Estate area, police have arrested one of the three accused involved in the attempted abduction and attack.
The incident took place on August 19, leaving the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg after he resisted the assailants’ efforts to force him into his own car at gunpoint.
The entire incident was caught on a nearby CCTV camera, footage from which played a crucial role in identifying the suspects.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a city-based Nephrologist was allegedly shot in the right leg when unidentified assailants opened fire outside a market in Jalandhar's Urban Estate area. The doctor, who runs a private hospital, was targeted just as he was about to enter his car. According to the news reports, the doctor had visited a supermarket for some routine shopping and was heading back to his vehicle when he was attacked. As he walked towards his car, two unidentified assailants, whose motives remain unclear, approached him.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Randhawa said, “The two main accused will be arrested soon as police have received key leads of their whereabouts. The arrested accused was accompanying them and returned to his house after committing the crime.”
The CP Jalandhar had constituted a team under the direct supervision of Manpreet Singh Dhillon (DCP Investigation), Jayant Puri (ADCP Investigation), Harinder Singh Gill (ADCP City-2), Paramjit Singh (ADCP), and Roopdeep Kaur (ACP Model Town), and the team was led by in-charge CIA staff, Surinder Kumar and Baljinder Singh. During the investigation, with the help of CCTV cameras, technical assistance, and other resources, three individuals involved in the incident were identified, reports the Tribune India.
