Jodhpur Homeopathic Doctor dies by suicide over domestic dispute
Jodhpur: Following a dispute with his wife that had been causing significant mental distress since their marriage, a 35-year-old homoeopathic doctor and associate professor at an Ayurveda University allegedly committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling of his clinic in Jodhpur's Kirti Nagar.
A full-page handwritten suicide note discovered at the scene by the police revealed the ongoing conflict between the doctor and his wife. He conveyed a sense of helplessness about their marriage, resulting in serious emotional distress. The note contained derogatory remarks and serious allegations against his wife, emphasizing their ongoing marital problems.
The incident comes amid the nationwide outrage over the suicide of a Bengaluru techie due to alleged harassment by his wife and her family during a divorce and custody battle. The alleged suicide of the doctor draws attention and concern to mental health and domestic issues surrounding men.

The doctor ran his clinic in a rented room in Kirti Nagar and was a contractual assistant professor at Ayurveda University for the last three years. His wife is also a homoeopathic doctor. They got married seven years ago and their four-year-old son lived with his wife.
As per the ETV Bharat news report, the shocking incident came to light when the doctor was unreachable. Despite calling him multiple times on Wednesday morning, his family members failed to get a response, which prompted them to contact his friends. After getting the information, one of his friends reached his clinic and knocked on the door but did not get an answer from inside.
Worried, he peeped through the window and saw the doctor hanging from the ceiling which shocked him. Immediately, he called the police and landlords and neighbours to help him break open the door. When they broke open the door and entered, the doctor had already passed away.
The police after reaching the spot conducted a preliminary investigation and found the suicide note which contained information about their dispute in marriage. Later the forensic team arrived to collect evidence from the scene.
A case has been registered in this regard and the police sent his body to the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. "Postmortem will be conducted after the family members come to Jodhpur," said the police.
As per an Asianetnews report, the reason behind the extreme step is yet to be determined. However, his family alleged that his wife had been mentally harassing him for a long time due to which the doctor took this step.
