Kolhapur Gynaecologist's Surgeon daughter found dead, suicide note and syringe recovered

Kolhapur: In yet another case of suicide, a gynaecologist's daughter who was also a doctor committed suicide and her body has been found near a retail mall in Tarabai Park.

The 30-year-old female doctor has been identified as Apurva Pravinchandra Hendre, daughter of Pravinchandra Hendre. She was a private hospital surgeon.

The incident took place when Apurva went out with her friends on Saturday night. Around midnight, she returned home but again locked the front door and went out. Unable to find her, his father reported a missing case at the Shahupuri police station. The police along with a search party found her dead body near the retail mall with medications, a syringe and also a suicide note. It was revealed that she had committed suicide.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the doctor was experiencing extreme stress at work and in her personal life. Her father made it clear to the police that he does not suspect anyone related to the case.

A Shahupuri police station official told TOI, "The suicide note states that she had work stress as well as personal issues, which prompted her to take the extreme step. We are waiting for the full post-mortem report to find out if the death had been caused due to overdose of those medications."

The official later added "The investigation is in primary stages and all angles will be further investigated. We are going to record the statements of her parents after they come out of the shock of their daughter's death."
