Kurukshetra Horror: Miscreants loot doctor on gunpoint, kill Gynaecologist wife
IMA shuts down private healthcare services for 48 hours
Kurukshetra: In a horrifying incident, four miscreants looted a Kurukhetra-based doctor on gunpoint and murdered his wife, who was a Gynaecologist by profession.
Yesterday around 9 PM, the miscreants entered the house of Dr Atul Arora, who has a clinic at the ground floor of his house. Dr. Arora somehow escaped and tried to get help from the neighbours, but by the time they reached the house again the miscreants had already murdered Dr. Vineeta Arora after looting jewellery and money from the house.
While the Police department is trying to arrest the miscreants, Indian Medical Association (IMA) Kurukshetra has decided to keep all the nursing homes and private multispecialty hospitals closed for today and tomorrow.
"The Superintendent of Police has assured us that the miscreants shall be arrested by tomorrow. Late Dr. Vineeta will be cremated at 4 pm today and we will decide about subsequent actions after that," Dr. Rakesh Bhardwaj, the President of IMA Kurukshetra told Medical Dialogues.
The horrific incident happened yesterday while Dr. Atul Arora, a physician, was still in his clinic. As per source's account to Medical Dialogues, after entering the house, the miscreants cornered the house members, collected jewellery from them and disconnected the phones and the CCTV.
After Dr. Atul reached the house, he was also cornered by the miscreants who had guns with them. Demanding to meet his aged parents, Dr. Atul entered their room and locked the door from inside. Thereafter, he jumped to the house of the neighbour and somehow reached the street. He called the neighbours and asked for their help.
Unfortunately, by the time, Dr Atul could reach the home with help, the miscreants had already murdered his wife Dr. Vineeta, who was a Gynaecologist by profession. Immediately, Police reached the spot and the SP was present in person along with the forensic team. The local MLA was also present there. Dr Vineeta shall be cremated at 4 PM today.
While commenting on the matter, Dr. Bhardwaj, the President of IMA Kurukshetra told Medical Dialogues, "Police Department has assured us that they would do the needful and arrest the culprits by tomorrow morning."
Referring to the decision of IMA to keep the nursing homes and private multispecialty hospitals closed for today and tomorrow, he added, "We have closed OPD and Emergency services for 48 hours. We will take any subsequent decisions after the cremation ceremony of late Dr. Vineeta. Surrounding branches of IMA have extended their support to us in this matter. We hope that the culprits get arrested soon."
