Liver Transplant Surgeon associated with Medanta allegedly Commits Suicide, Jumps from 8th-floor
Gurugram: In an unfortunate incident, a doctor attached to Medanta Hospital allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the eighth-floor balcony of his apartment.
The 39-year-old doctor was a liver transplant surgeon who hailed from Nepal and was staying all by himself at Eco apartment in sector 47, Gurugram. As per a recent IANS report, the doctor was dealing with a divorce. He used to live in Gurgaon while his wife, who is also a doctor, and his 6-year-old daughter live in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Shedding light on the incident, police confirmed that the couple had filed a mutual divorce petition in a local court. On September 1, they had to attend their first court hearing. As per the officials, just before taking the drastic step, the medical practitioner had a conversation with his wife over the phone, where he allegedly informed her that he was going to commit suicide by jumping off from the window.
On hearing this, his wife immediately informed the Gurgaon police over the phone. The cops rushed to the apartment, however, it was too late. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead.
