According to the complaint filed by the doctor, he had parked his car in front of MLA Quarters near a multi-speciality clinic at Jawahar Chowk. He had gone there to meet a friend, reports the Times of India.
When he returned around 9.30 pm, he saw that the left side front window glass of his car was open, and somebody had taken his bag, which was kept on the rear seat. His NHM-allotted laptop and bag were kept inside the bag.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported another theft incident from Tamil Nadu where a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) was robbed by a three-member masked gang who looted nearly 50 sovereigns of gold ornaments and 24 lakh in cash from his house at Anna Nagar in Palani town. The doctor was allegedly tied up by the gang who trespassed into his house carrying sharp objects in search of valuable ornaments. After stealing the gold ornaments and cash, the gang fled the scene. The doctor was a Chief Medical Officer at Palani Government Hospital. Dindigul SP V Baskaran, who visited the spot said they have got several leads and the accused will be picked up soon.
