MBBS intern allegedly hangs self
Mangaluru: An MBBS intern allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her apartment room on Sunday.
The 25-year-old medico was working at a private hospital in the city as an intern. She hailed from Bidar and was pursuing her MBBS internship while staying at an apartment in Kuthur.

According to a media report in Times of India, the medico was living in an apartment on the 12th floor that she used to share with another friend. They both stayed in separate rooms.
The incident came to light around 10.45 in the morning on December 19, when a friend of the medico tried to reach out to her over the phone. However, the when the medico did not receive her calls, her friend rushed to the apartment. On reaching, the medico was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her room.
Subsequently, a case was registered with the Ullal police station.
The reason behind the extreme step is still unknown. However, police are suspecting the involvement of a 24 year old man, who studied with her in the same class and lived in the same building. He has been detained by the police for questioning, reports Daiji World.
While TOI reports that personal issues might be the reason behind the suicide. Presently, further investigation is ongoing.
The Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a similar incident where a third-year MBBS student of of Maharaja Agarsain Medical College attempted suicide by jumping from the window of the first floor of Jindal Private Hospital in Hisar as she was fed up and depressed with alleged ragging and sexual harassment by two seniors.
