Nawada Paediatrician attacked while returning fom duty, sustains head injuries

Doctor assault
Nawada: In a shocking case of violence against medical professionals, a paediatrician posted at a government hospital in Nawada was allegedly abused and assaulted by unidentified persons, sustaining serious head injuries.
According to the doctor, the attackers appeared to be intoxicated and approached him while he was returning home from duty. Although the police have registered a case, no arrests have been made so far.

As per a Zee News report, the incident occurred around 10 pm when the doctor was on his way home. Two men on a bike allegedly stopped him, abused him, and then assaulted him. They reportedly hit him on the head with a stone, causing severe injuries. The doctor has expressed fear for his safety.
After being informed, City Police Station in-charge Avinash Kumar reached the spot. The doctor later filed a complaint against the attackers, following which the police registered a case of assault.
Police said the investigation has been intensified and assured that the accused will be arrested soon. Meanwhile, doctors have raised concerns over their safety and demanded security arrangements, especially for those returning home late at night.
Medical Dialogues recently reported that a 28-year-old resident doctor from the Neurosurgery Department at Rajkot Civil Hospital was abused and assaulted by an attendant of an accident victim while on duty in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The accused entered the ICU after being angry over the return of an unused bottle of blood and began abusing the nursing staff. When the doctor intervened and asked him to maintain discipline, the man allegedly attacked the doctor, pushing him to the ground and threatening to kill him. As a result, the doctor suffered facial injuries in the assault.
