New Delhi: Doctor patient brawl breaks out at Swami Dayanand Hospital

New Delhi: Chaos erupted at Swami Dayanand Hospital in Shahdara, as doctors and relatives of a minor patient engaged in a physical altercation after the unfortunate demise of the minor while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

According to Delhi police, the family members of the minor alleged medical negligence on the part of the doctors during the minor's treatment.

"A complaint was received at GTB Enclave Police Station regarding the death of a minor who was undergoing treatment at the Swami Dayanand Hospital in Shahdara," said police.

Police further said that after the minor was pronounced dead, the family members of the child started accusing the doctors of medical negligence and hence had an argument with the doctors.

Subsequently, a First Information Report was filed by the police, based on the complaint of the doctors of the hospital.

"The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera, based on which we are investigating the matter," said police.

Further details into the matter are awaited.

Medical Dialogues team had recently reported that a doctor of a government hospital in Bihar's Munger alleged that BJP MLA Pranav Kumar threatened him with dire consequences and tried to strangulate him. Dr Kumar Shanu, who is posted at the Sadar hospital, claimed that the BJP MLA barged into his cabin in the emergency ward and threatened him.

A video in this regard went viral on social media where the verbal spat between the doctor and MLA was taking place inside the emergency ward.
