PG Medico injects himself with IV fluids, found dead inside car

Doctor Suicide
Chennai: In an unfortunate incident, a doctor working at a hospital in Madurai who was pursuing his second-year postgraduate medical degree allegedly committed suicide by injecting himself with intravenous (IV) fluids. His dead body was found inside his car three days later near the hill town of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu.
According to media reports, the doctor had been missing for four days before police discovered his body inside a parked car, which had remained stationary for three days in the same location. While preliminary investigations suggest the doctor may have been in debt due to alleged online gambling losses, police have not confirmed this as the cause of the suicide.

A suicide note was recovered from the car in which the doctor apologised to his family but did not blame anyone or mention a specific reason for taking the step. Since the note gave no specific reason for the act, his family reportedly told authorities that he had been suffering from depression due to a relationship issue.
The deceased from Vedachandur in Dindigul district had completed his medical degree in the Philippines and had worked in various hospitals across Tamil Nadu. He was in the second year PG course, reports India Today.
The incident came to light when locals spotted a car parked for three consecutive days in a remote forested area of Poomparai near Kodaikanal and alerted the police. On reaching the spot, police found the doctor dead inside the vehicle with an IV apparatus in his hand.
The exact cause of the doctor’s death remains unknown and will be determined only after the postmortem report is released. As for the suspected debt angle, police are still investigating and have not yet confirmed any details.
“There were reports that he took the extreme step due to losses in online gaming. We have not found any such detail in his suicide note, nor do his parents say so. We are investigating," a police official told NDTV.
The suspected debt angle emerged after police examined the doctor's mobile phone, which revealed bank transaction records pointing to significant financial distress.
A case has been registered in this regard, and an investigation is underway.
