Railway doctor's kin locked inside bungalow allegedly over tiff with official's son
Samastipur: The family of a doctor posted at Samastipur divisional railway hospital were illegally confined inside their bungalow by the railway authorities over an alleged argument between the doctor and the son of a senior railway official.
Dr Shivashish Rai works as a contract doctor in the Railway Hospital located at Samastipur Railway Division Headquarters. His contract ended on 22nd May 2023, following which it was in the renewal process at the administrative level.

The railway administration, on June 12, had told the doctor and his family to leave the bungalow by noon on June 13. The doctor did not vacate the house till 2 pm on June 13, following which the Railway Police Force (RPF) along with the engineering department team of Railways sealed the bungalow with the doctor's family inside.
The incident immediately went viral on social media, after which the administration removed the lock. The doctor's wife, elderly parents and younger son-daughter were locked inside the house. The power line of the house was also disrupted, reports the English Jagran.
However, the doctor's father alleged that the authorities took the action due to an argument between his son and the son of a senior railway official at a swimming pool. He further alleged that the officials of the engineering department reached the bungalow with a notice and asked them to vacate only after that tiff.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about significant news from Bihar in which the state health department decided to constitute a Para Medical Council for the first time in the state, awaiting approval from the state cabinet. The council was one of the few demands placed by Bihar's paramedical students, who have been protesting against the government over the latter's delay in releasing their results and meeting their six-point demand.
