Rajasthan approves recruitment of 600 medical officers
The Rajasthan government has approved recruitment for 600 Medical Officer posts, with applications set to be invited through Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar approved the proposal prepared by the Medical and Health Department.
Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has approved a proposal to recruit 600 Medical Officers (MOs) as part of efforts to strengthen the state's healthcare system.
The recruitment process is expected to begin shortly, with applications to be invited through Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS). The proposal for filling the Medical Officer posts was prepared by the Medical and Health Department and submitted to Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, who has approved the recruitment plan.
According to the Minister, the recruitment will be open to doctors who have completed their MBBS in Rajasthan. The application process will be conducted through RUHS, with the government expected to issue the recruitment announcement soon.
Khimsar said the appointment of the 600 Medical Officers would help further strengthen healthcare services across the state. However, details regarding the application schedule and other recruitment-related information are yet to be announced, reports Bhaskar English.
The recruitment proposal comes against the backdrop of appointments made across various departments since the present government assumed office. The Minister stated that 39,288 posts have been filled and appointments made during this period.
Among these appointments, the state has filled 1,699 Medical Officer posts along with 208 Medical Officer (Dentist) posts. A total of 19,240 posts in the non-gazetted cadre have also been filled, according to the Minister.
In the Medical Education Department, appointments have been made against 15 Assistant Professor posts. In addition, the government has made appointments to 18,126 posts under the National Health Mission (NHM).
The proposed recruitment of another 600 Medical Officers is therefore the latest addition to the state government's ongoing appointments in the health sector. The move is expected to expand the available medical workforce across the state.
