Renowned Ayurvedacharya Dr Harish Patankar conferred International Ayurveda Ratna Award

Pune: The Second World Ayurveda Health Summit, held recently at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru, saw renowned Pune-based Ayurvedacharya Dr Harish Patankar being conferred with the prestigious International Ayurveda Ratna Award. The award was presented by noted actor and theatre director Prakash Belawadi.
The summit was hosted by the Prashanti Ayurved Center and supported by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, along with the Department of Ayush, Government of Karnataka. The event aimed to promote Ayurveda on a global platform and to strengthen dialogue between traditional Ayurvedic wisdom and modern healthcare systems.

The programme featured scientific sessions, panel discussions, keynote lectures, research presentations, and interactive forums. Key themes included evidence-based Ayurveda, integrative medicine, preventive healthcare, and the global relevance of India’s traditional knowledge systems.
Dr Patankar was conferred the award in recognition of his decades-long service to Ayurvedic clinical practice, research, and education. He has also played a significant role in promoting authentic Ayurvedic practices at both national and international levels. During the summit, Dr Patankar delivered a lecture focusing on the practical application of classical Ayurvedic principles in modern clinical practice, which was well received by delegates.
After receiving the award, Dr Patankar expressed his gratitude, dedicating the honour to his teachers and mentors, including Dr Sameer Jamadagni, Dr Gopakumar, and his Sadguru, Shri Anandnath Maharaj. He also acknowledged the support of his students, patients, family, friends, well-wishers, and followers, emphasising that their encouragement had been instrumental throughout his professional journey.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has once again secured the gold award from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as the country’s Best Health Technology Assessment (HTA) institution for the second consecutive year.
