Telangana: 1442 Assistant Professors appointed at Govt Medical Colleges
"The government’s proactive approach to filling essential medical positions has paved the way for improved healthcare accessibility throughout the state. The approach ensures a comprehensive and fair selection of qualified candidates, further reinforcing the healthcare workforce," a press release said.
Hyderabad: In a significant boost to teaching faculties in the state-run Government medical colleges, the Telangana Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHSRB) has announced the release of the selection list for 1442 Assistant Professors in 34 specialty departments under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
The highly specialised and skilled doctors will be appointed in the newly constructed medical colleges in the state for five months. The recruitment process for the assistant professors started in December last year and the doctors have been selected on a merit basis.
The selected doctors will join 34 specialty departments in teaching hospitals that fall under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME). In the next two weeks, counselling sessions will be held based on merit, and appointment letters will be sent to the selected candidates.

Meanwhile, the move will address the shortage of senior faculty that was a major issue in the state for a long time. The doctors will provide specialized medical care to patients living in remote areas of the state.
Congratulating MHSRB for completing the task of the selection process within a record time of just 5 months, State Health Minister T Harish Rao informed Telangana Today, “The entire selection process was transparent. The MHSRB was diligent in handling concerns of candidates to ensure timely completion of the selection process. I must also take this opportunity to congratulate the Assistant Professors who have been selected,” he said.
"The government’s proactive approach to filling essential medical positions has paved the way for improved healthcare accessibility throughout the state. The approach ensures a comprehensive and fair selection of qualified candidates, further reinforcing the healthcare workforce," a press release said.
Minister Harish Rao also highlighted the ongoing recruitment process of 5,204 staff nurse positions, which is being conducted in a transparent and robust online examination system.
