Telangana doctor couple robbed of Rs 1.9 lakh by purse snatcher
Gandhinagar: A visit to a paediatrics conference in Gandhinagar turned detrimental for a Telangana-based doctor couple who lost Rs 1.90 lakh on the morning of 22nd February in an alleged case of purse snatching.
The incident took place when the couple was inside an autorickshaw in the Raipur area. The doctor eventually filed a complaint at the Khadia police station, based on which an FIR was registered.

The doctor, who works for a government hospital in Kamareddy, and his partner, a pathologist, arrived in the city on February 18 for a paediatrics conference and were staying at a hotel near Iskcon Crossroads.
They had travelled to Somnath on February 20 and left for Ahmedabad on the night of February 21. The incident took place when they were returning from Somnath by train on Wednesday morning and got into an autorickshaw to go to their hotel.
According to the complainant, his partner had put her purse on her lap when they got inside the rickshaw. A motorcycle began riding in parallel to them from the left side and snatched the person's purse, as per a media report in the TOI.
The complainant stated that the purse contained gold bangles worth Rs 1.50 lakh, her phone and other articles worth Rs 40,000 and some other documents.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a similar incident from Thane which reported the theft of medical equipment and television sets worth more than Rs 2 crore from two godowns in Bhiwandi town of Maharashtra’s Thane district. The police recovered stolen goods worth Rs. 1.51 crore from the accused. The accused had stolen television sets of a popular brand worth Rs 75 lakh from a godown, and in another instance, they broke into a godown in Mankoli and decamped with medical equipment worth Rs 1.38 crore.
