Thoothukudi Medical College anaesthesiologist found dead at home

Thoothukudi: In a tragic incident, a 39-year-old Assistant Professor at Government Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital (MCH) was found dead at his residence in Thoothukudi on Tuesday night, police said.

The deceased was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anaesthesia at Government Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital. According to police, the incident occurred at his residence on Third Street in Bryant Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the Thoothukudi South Police Station, at around 9 p.m.

According to the Hindu, he was rushed to the hospital by his family members, but doctors there declared him brought dead.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to his death. The exact reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be determined.

The doctor is survived by his wife, who is also a doctor and is currently employed with V.O.C. Port, Thoothukudi. Authorities are continuing their inquiry into the case.

Medical Dialogues had previously reported that in a shocking incident, the body of a 28-year-old doctor, who had been missing for three days, was found from the banks of the Cauvery River near Muttathi in Halaguru Hobli of Karnataka. Police suspect that he died by suicide after allegedly consuming poison.

The deceased was a resident of Makanahalli village in T. Narsipura taluk of Mysuru district and was working at a private clinic in Kestur village, Maddur taluk.
