Tragic: 3 doctors from Ballari Medical College killed, 1 injured in car crash while returning from holiday
Ballari: In a tragic incident, three doctors from the Ballari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) lost their lives in a car crash, and another doctor sustained critical injuries after their speeding car rammed into a roadside tree near Vidapanakal village in Anantapur district.
As per India Today, the three deceased have been identified as Dr Yoghes, Dr Govindaray and Dr Amresh from Bellary in Karnataka. While the three doctors were found dead on the spot, another doctor was found critically injured and shifted to a hospital in Bellary. His condition was stated to be critical.
According to the police, the doctors landed at Bengaluru airport at 1.30 a.m. and were returning to Bellary after a vacation trip to Hong Kong. The incident occurred on Sunday when they were returning to Ballari via Anantapur in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh from Bengaluru International Airport.

On their way, the car driver lost control and hit the tree at around 4 am. The vehicle was badly mangled in the crash and the bodies of the deceased were scattered at the scene, as per an IANS report.
Following the accident, locals contacted the police and a preliminary investigation was conducted. Police suspect that poor visibility in the area due to dense fog led to the crash.
The unexpected passing of these individuals deeply saddened and shocked the medical community.
Expressing sorrow over their demise, the President of the Indian Medical Association, the largest represented organisation of doctors Dr K Raghavendra told India Today, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleagues. We urge all drivers to exercise caution while driving on the highway."
A case has been registered by the police under relevant sections and an investigation is underway.
