Two arrested for shooting at Gynaecologist in Karnataka
Raichur: Following the terrifying case of the gynaecologist who escaped unhurt after two unidentified men opened fire at his car, the city police on Monday arrested the two accused in connection with the case.
Based on substantial evidence, the police nabbed the accused and had taken them into police custody. Earlier the police registered an FIR under Section 25 of the Arms Act and Sections 341, 307 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) about the firing incident.
After a detailed investigation and going through the CCTV footage, the police identified the duo. To capture them quickly, the police department formed three teams of police officers under the instruction of B.S. Lokesh Kumar, the Inspector-General of Police for Ballari Range.

The special police team who nabbed the duo was supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police R. Shivakumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police M.G. Satyanarayana. The team included Police Inspectors Mahantesh, Pradeep, Gururaj Kattimani, Nagaraj Meka and Ningappa and Sub-Inspectors Prakash Reddy Dambal, Chandrappa, Sanna Veeresh, T.D. Manjunath, reports TH.
Medical Dialogues team recently reported about the incident where two men attempted to shoot the doctor by firing at him while he was on his way to Manvi in his car. The first bullet hit the bonnet of the car and the second one misfired. The miscreants followed his car on a motorcycle and overtook the doctor near Sath Mile Cross after which they opened fire at him. After the second attempt failed, the two men fled the scene.
Two months back, the doctor received a call and a message from an unknown number demanding cryptocurrency, and a complaint was registered at the Netaji Nagar Police Station regarding the same. The number has not remained active since then.
During the investigation of the case, the police recovered a pistol and motorcycle used in the crime from the possession of the accused.
Further investigation into the case is under process.
