The awarded research was conducted by a joint team of senior psychiatrists and mentors, including Dr. Jitendra Jingar, Dr. Manu Sharma, Dr. Anjali Sharma, Dr. Paristish Kamdar, Dr. Chhayank Acharya, and Dr. Aditya Borate.
The research found that factors such as physical and emotional abuse, stress, and low self-esteem are significantly linked with adolescents’ socioeconomic background, family structure, and parents’ education and income. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and educators, advocating for the integration of mental-health-focused curriculum modules in schools.
Commending the team, Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Dean of Geetanjali Hospital, stated that the award is not only a personal achievement for Dr. Kamdar but also a source of immense pride for Udaipur and the psychiatric community of Rajasthan.
