Unfortunate: Truck rams into UP Doctor couple's car; 1 dead
Bareilly: In a dreadful accident, a private doctor and his driver lost their lives after a speeding sand-laden truck rammed into their car on the Bahjoi-Sambhal Road. The doctor's wife, also a medical professional, who was also travelling in the car; sustained critical injuries and is currently admitted in the ICU. The doctor couple owns a maternity and heart care centre in Moradabad.
The incident took place on January 31st morning when the doctor, along with his wife; was going to get a new car from Delhi. Their driver was accompanying them.
According to recent media reports, as soon as their car reached near Bahjoi, the sand-laden truck from Sambhal came in high speed. Suddenly, when the truck's tyre burst, it lost control and crashed into their car killing both men on the spot and severely injuring the female doctor. She has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
The front part of the car was brutally damaged after the accident and the car entered a roadside trench. People working in the nearby fields ran to rescue the injured in the car. The villagers pulled out all three and informed police as well as emergency 108 service.

Informing PTI about the incident, the police officials said that their vehicle was hit by the truck in Bahjoi police station area. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the place after the accident.
"The truck driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the car. We have lodged an FIR against the absconding truck driver impounding it," said Ravindra Pratap Singh, SHO, Behjoi police station informed TOI.
