Mumbai: In a viral video, a Cardiologist from Maharashtra's Kolhapur has gained massive appreciation on social media, where he could be seen saving the life of a patient who suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest.
The video shows a patient, who usually is sitting at first, feeling uneasy, following which he taps on the doctor's table, and the doctor then rushes to save the man. The viral CCTV footage was shared by Rajya Sabha MP Dhananjay Mahadik, who is a native of Kolhapur.

In the footage, the doctor, identified as Arjun Adnaik, could be seen checking the patient, who was accompanied by two other doctors. Initially, the doctor seems to orally examine the patient, who seems to be normal. However, after a while, the patient shows uneasiness, and the doctor is seen to be immediately reaching out to the patient. The person sitting next to the man is seen getting off the chair to give the doctors space to do their work.
The doctor is seen giving him cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by thumping his chest, and the patient revives, and the patient is seen revived immediately, reports the Hindustan Times. After a few strokes, the man reportedly gained consciousness, and his head, which had rolled back, got stable. The doctor asks him if he is fine and returns to his chair when the man says he feels okay.
Sharing the video, Mahadik wrote, "This video shows an example of a real-life hero living in our midst. Dr. Arjun Adnaik, one of the best cardiologists, from Kolhapur, saved a patient's life. I applaud such honourable and virtuous heroes."
However, a user identifying as a physician observed that the video could be a possible "publicity gimmick" as he was unfamiliar with such a manner of treating cardiac arrest. Another user tweeted, "life-saving should be included in schools, it's a matter of seconds."
