Viral Video of Doctor Lying on Patient's Bed to write Prescription Sparks Outrage

Jhansi: A shocking incident at a Community Health Center (CHC) in Mauranipur has gained media attention after a video went viral on social media, showing a government doctor unusually treating a patient. The footage captures the doctor lying on a patient’s bed while writing a prescription, facing away from the patient as she explains her condition.
In the viral clip, the doctor remains in a reclined position, his face turned towards the wall, while the woman patient sits beside the bed, describing her health issues. Instead of sitting up and engaging with her directly, he listens while nodding and writes the prescription without making eye contact.

This act was recorded on a mobile phone by a bystander and shared online, which quickly went viral, triggering widespread outrage. The video, which has been extensively circulated on social media, was originally posted by a X user.
The caption read- "This doctor writes prescriptions while lying on the bed! A government doctor is treating a woman while lying down. Doctors at community health centers prescribe medicines in this manner. The doctor is posted at the Mauranipur health center."
The user tagged National Health Mission, Uttar Pradesh, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the state government in his X post to alert them about the incident.
According to the viral video, the elderly woman had visited the health center seeking treatment. Further updates on the incident are awaited.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported about an altercation between a resident doctor and a male nurse at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital. While the doctor accused the nurse of physically assaulting him with a slipper and hitting his head with an iron plate, the nurse claimed that the doctor had verbally abused and slapped him. CCTV footage of the altercation has since gone viral on social media.
