Bengaluru Doctors Arrested for Consuming Alcohol on Two-Wheeler in Public
Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, three doctors were arrested in Bengaluru after a video showing them riding a two-wheeler while consuming alcohol on a busy road went viral on social media.
The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday night between Jayadeva Junction and BTM Layout. The video shows three men riding a motorcycle through dense traffic, with the rider allegedly zig-zagging dangerously across the road. The pillion rider at the rear can be seen openly holding and drinking from a liquor bottle in full public view.

Acting suo motu, Mico Layout traffic police registered a case. “With the help of the vehicle owner, we summoned another two to the police station. Confessing to their act, the three doctors told us they partied at a bar and restaurant to celebrate the completion of MS in orthopaedics. Before leaving, one of the doctors took the half-emptied beer bottle with him. Holding the same, he rode pillion with another two,” a police officer said, reports TOI.
According to news reports, the doctors are from different medical institutions: Sapthagiri Medical College (Chikkabanavara), Vydehi Hospital, and Chamundeshwari Medical College (Ramanagara district).
All three were taken to Mico Layout Police Station and later released on bail. They face multiple charges, including triple riding, negligent driving, riding without helmets, and consumption of alcohol in a public place.
Speaking to NDTV, a police officer said, "We arrested the three of them, and they were given bail at the police station. Karnataka police act doesn't permit consumption of liquor in public places, we have invoked that law along with the relevant traffic sections too."

The viral video has sparked calls for stricter enforcement of traffic and public safety regulations in Bengaluru.
